Australian grain growers reliant on glyphosate to control weeds while supplying grain to feed the world have breathed a sigh of relief, with a court case claiming a link between the farming tool and cancer being dismissed.
ABC NewsRadio reported on the case outcome and spoke to Grain Producers Australia RD&E Spokesperson Andrew Weidemann who reflected that glyphosate is an important tool for grain producers, with no real alternative available to perform the same function.
"Is vital for sustainable food production," he said.
"It's such an important building block for agricultural production in Australia, particularly when already dealing with climate variability."
