Grain Producers Australia is urging farmers to share their spray records as part of an effort to support the continued use of Paraquat.
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority is reviewing the chemical and proposing to ban its application via optical or camera spot spraying.
Speaking to ABC Radio National, Interim Cheif Executive Peter Arkle emphasised that on-farm data is critical when demonstrating the importance of optical spot spraying to sustainable farming practices.
"We're really wanting these...direct records from these camera spraying systems as really that primary evidence to make the case to the APVMA that this optical spot technology is absolutely critical and is key to a sustainable farming future."
