Driverless farm machinery is becoming closer to mainstream Australian agriculture, with early adopters identifying productivity and worker safety benefits.
However, affordability and connectivity are key concerns and barriers to more growers taking the technology on board.
ABC Rural spoke to Queensland growers Andrew and Jocie Bates about their work over the past decade to employ driverless farm robots on their property.
This follows a recent survey released by Grain Producers Australia, which found 27 per cent of Australian farmers are using semi or fully autonomous technology, but cost remains a clear issue.
