Crops around much of the country are waiting on rain to germinate.
The favourable conditions in New South Wales and Queensland have growers so far confident with their season start, but the rest of the country remains dry and in need of a season break.
A Farm Online report with Grain Producers Australia representatives also revealed the Bureau of Meteorology had forecasted negligible rainfall across the country for the remainder of May.
WAFarmers Grains Section President Mark Fowler said some sporadic rain in the southern wheatbelt had boosted prospects.
Victorian Farmers Federation Grains Group Chair Craig Henderson said seeding was well advanced, but the western part of the state was in need of opening rains.
Grain Producers SA chief executive Brad Perry said the conditions remained parched.
"Any rain we've had so far has been very patchy and overall conditions are dry," he said.
