A new council leading the Grains Sustainability Framework initiative will work towards improving outcomes for growers.
GrainGrowers and Grain Producers Australia representatives will sit on the council, along with an observer from the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).
Farm Weekly reported that the new council would be headed up by 2023 Australian Farmer of the Year and NSW producer Tess Herbert.
GPA Southern Region Director and Sustainability Spokesperson Mark Schilling said he looked forward to delivering value for growers in the sustainability space.
Farm Weekly also outlined that the council was recruiting for a steering group chair.
