A decision on the proposed merger of Elders and Delta Agribusiness has been delayed by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to seek more information from the parties.
This follows concerns raised by Grain Producers Australia in a submission to the ACCC in January.
Grain Central reported that GPA had concerns over competition implications, with input costs and reliability of supply being key to this viewpoint.

GPA Southern Region Director and Victorian grower Andrew Weidemann said GPA’s submission to the ACCC review process was informed by invaluable input provided by GPA’s state members, and complemented representations from other farm sectors.
Mr Weidemann said GPA’s ACCC submission expressed members’ concerns about the impact of consolidation in Australia’s rural supply markets.
