Queensland Country Life | GPA calls on major parties to plant seeds today for ag's future success

Grain Producers Australia is calling on major parties to invest in policy and initiatives that boost on-farm productivity to grow the $32 billion grains industry in Australia.

Queensland Country Life detailed GPA's federal election priorities released this week, which include addressing escalating input costs, maintaining access to pesticides, farm labour supply issues and better connectivity for the regions.

GPA president and WA grain grower Barry Large said it was a smart investment and political no-brainer to back the grains industry and to start where the grain is produced.

"Backing our farmers provides grassroots strength to continuing growing the shared benefits and prosperity delivered for our industry, the economy, environment, and rural communities," he said.

Mr Large said GPA's election policy priorities were like a bag of seeds being handed to the parties to use to "plant the seeds of future success".
