Ongoing wet weather could create 'nightmare' conditions for spray drift this summer.
This is the warning from both Cotton Australia and Grain Producers Australia (GPA), who are advising growers to be careful with their summer spraying programs.
Queensland Country Life reported that heavy rainfall over eastern Australia meant growers would need to conduct significant weed control this summer and reports of spray drift had already occurred in New South Wales during November.
GPA has maintained significant resources and communications to raise grower awareness about the issue said the vast majority of growers adhered to regulations but added there was no room for complacency.
GPA research and development spokesperson, Andrew Weidemann, said his organisation planned to keep educating growers on correct processes.
