A farmer from South Australia's Murraylands region has been selected to lead the GRDC from next month.
Sharon Starick was announced as the new GRDC Chair by Minister for Agriculture Julie Collins for a period of three years.
The Stock Journal reported on the appointment and highlighted Mrs Starick's passion and strong interest in striving for a sustainable and profitable grains industry.
Grain Producers Australia Chair Barry Large welcomed Mrs Starick to the role and wished outgoing GRDC Chair John Woods the best for his future endeavours.
"We look forward to working with Sharon to support a strong, profitable and sustainable grains industry," he said.
"The GRDC plays a key role in ensuring grain producers can stay at the forefront of farming practices, technology and opportunities for innovation."
