Advances in automation technology is translating to efficiency and lifestyle gains across many agricultural industries including dairy and grains.
This includes automating processes that can bypass issues with labour shortages and allowing smaller operations to prioritise their attention and achieve work-life balance benefits.
Stock Journal featured a number of examples in both the dairy and grains industries where robotics in particular are enabling farmers to increase productivity.

Grain Producers Australia Southern Region Director and Research, Development and Extension Spokesperson Andrew Weidemann said GPA had long-recognised the future opportunities and benefits of autonomous farm machinery, especially to improve on-farm production and grower profitability.
"That's why we've been working with the Tractor and Machinery Association of Australia and the Society of Precision Agriculture Australia since 2019 to develop and implement the Code of Practice for Agricultural Mobile Field Machinery with Autonomous Functions in Australia," he said.
