STOCK & LAND | Grain Producers Australia seeks growers' thoughts on autonomous machinery

More information about grower understanding and use of autonomous farm machinery is being sought through an online survey.

The survey is a part of an initiative by Grain Producers Australia, the Tractor and Machinery Association of Australia and the Society of Precision Agriculture Australia to advocate for the safe and effective adoption of autonomous machinery in Australia.

Stock & Land reported that the five-minute survey follows efforts to develop the Code of Practice for Agricultural Mobile Field Machinery with Autonomous Functions and forms part of work to have industry own and drive the code's implementation.

GPA Southern Region Directors and RD&E Spokesperson Andrew Weidemann said the survey would help understand how industry can move towards using the technology on their own terms, with their own needs in mind.
