THE WEEKLY TIMES | FARMERS CUT FROST-DAMAGED CROPS

Farmers across southern NSW and Victoria are dealing with severe crop damage which is expected cost million of dollars in lost revenue.

The Weekly Times has reported that vast areas of canola, lentils, faba beans, barley and wheat have been damaged forcing farmers to either cut the affected crops or allow livestock to graze on them.

Grain Producers Australia Southern Region Director Andrew Weidemann, described the recent frost as the worst he's witnessed in seven years, with 60-80% of crops in the Birchip region suffering significant damage.

"Canola was the most affected... I saw a canola paddock that was 100 percent damaged from the recent frosts."
